What’s your Legacy?

Everyone lives. Everyone dies. However, not everyone leaves a legacy or lives a life that will leave a legacy which is sad because when they are gone, they are easily forgotten. To not be forgotten, you need to live a life that makes a difference in the life of others … to live a life that will be remembered by many with positivity because you did something to inspire them or change their life for the better.

Doc Paolo Bellosillo knows this and believes that people need to live life the best way they possibly can and one of the ways to do this is by living a healthy life coz when you are healthy, you can do more and be more. Doc Pao is an advocate of this because he has seen many people die young or not able to do what they want with life due to health limitations. To Doc Pao, this is worse than death because you are alive but not able to live fully.

To help you out, we asked Doc Pao Bellosillo to give us not 1, not 2, not 3 but 8 tips to help you start living a life that will leave a legacy.

  1. First, know your limits, live within it and then gauge where you can grow in increments.  Do more with a passion.
  2. In health whether spiritual, physiological or emotional and psychological, know your toxins and get rid of them. Determine your deficiencies and supplement them.
  3. Next serve with a heart of charity.
  4. Give with generosity.
  5. Value life at any crossroad, and protect it, preserve it. From the foods you eat or making sure babies are born into our reality.
  6. Live each day and moment as if it were the last day of your life and do so by creating moments with people you love or even you don’t know for God and country.
  7. Just say thank you. It means a lot and goes a long way.
  8. Start listening and then wait for your turn to speak and arrive at a solution.

If you were in a show and God is your audience, make him proud, sing the song and make him feel goosebumps. Play that music and take away His stress.  Smile at Him and smile at others too. For today it’s your show so live a life of legacy.

When it comes to purchasing mobile devices, most consumers look into and compare specs– which has the best OS, the best camera, the long-lasting battery life, etc. Often neglected yet equally important is the after sales-service each phone brand provides. The after-sales service reflects how mobile phone companies value their customers by providing services that go beyond business. Technology giant, Huawei is dedicated in providing end-to-end offerings to consumers to make sure that they are not just buying mobile phones of great specs but also being valued as loyal consumers.

Aiming to bring the brand closer to Cebuanos, Huawei Philippines recently opened an Exclusive Service Center (ESC) in Cebu City. The newly-opened service center is located at Unit A CAIAA Vibo Place, N. Escario Street, Cebu City 6000 and is open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm daily.

“In the game of phone specifications, we know Huawei is already being loved all the more by Filipinos. But we have found more reasons for Filipinos to choose Huawei – and it is because of the after-sales service we easily offer our beloved customers. Extending this service to Cebuanos, we are hoping that this newly-opened exclusive service center will bring more Filipinos closer to the brand as we offer them hassle-free means to repair and service their Huawei phones,” shared Roberto Javier, Device Customer Service Director for Huawei Philippines. “Huawei is committed to increase the number of ESC’s nationwide to better cater to the needs of our growing customer base.”

What makes the Huawei ESC different from other brands apart from its usual over-the-counter consultation and repair, the service center also offers a wide array of interactive services including the Contact Center which is open daily at 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Huawei will be available to take calls and assist consumers with their concerns. Consumers just need to dial the toll free numbers 1800-18535353 for PLDT, Smart and Sun Cellular subscribers, and 1800-87395227 for Globe subcribers.

Cebu’s Largest Taxi Fleet Accepting Cashless Payments thru Cell Phones

Passengers of RP Corominas cabs, the largest taxi fleet in Cebu, can now avail of cashless payments using smart phones through GCash.

“We partnered with GCash to provide convenience to our riders and drivers through GCash,” said RP Corominas owner Peter Corominas.

“With the GCash scan-to-pay technology, the passenger simply uses his smart phone to scan the QR code assigned to our drivers. Then he or she types the amount to be paid and confirming the payment,” he explained.

This alternative mode of payment is now offered to commuters as GCash partners with RP Corominas Taxi, one of the most notable taxi operators in Cebu.

Delighted RP Corominas cabbies have since expressed their gratitude for sparing them the burden of securing the exact change.

With over 200 taxi units roaming Cebu, RP Corominas has maintained its integrity as an institution in the transport industry since its establishment in 1992, by providing quality taxi rides. They partnered with GCash in order to adapt to the changing times and offer more convenience to their customers.

“In our rapidly developing world, everyone is in a rush. We can keep up with our customers by offering them an easy way to pay using GCash,” said Corominas.

GCash is continuously expanding their reach and forging different partnerships to further their aim of financial inclusion via digitization. With their #PagGCashNaBai campaign, the unbanked can place their money in an e-wallet and use it to send money, buy telco loads, pay bills, or buy things offline or online. At the same time, businesses or even small vendors can use the application to offer their customers fast, secured, and convenient cashless transactions.

“We are proud to be the mobile payment partner of the largest taxi fleet in Cebu. Aside from providing businessmen the latest and widest mobile payment platform, the partnership will also provide RP Corominas riders an easy option to pay for their taxi bills and in the same respect, give the drivers the convenience of getting the exact payment amounts in their e-wallets,” said Mynt President & CEO, Anthony Thomas.

GCash has over 16,000 partners nationwide. GCash is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.

CPMS Celebrates 15th Founding Anniversary with Sinulog Blessing of New Building

Sinulog isn’t over just yet for the students and staff of Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS).

As they celebrate their 15th Founding Anniversary today (January 28), CPMS is also inaugurating their newest school building – the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Building. And what better way to kick off the festivities than doing it the Sinulog way?

“January 28, 2005 was when our SEC registration and Charter were signed. For 14 years, we did not really celebrate that. This is the first time in 15 years that we are celebrating our Foundation Day. Sto. Niño has been the source of everything. This is our thanksgiving,” said CPMS President Marivic Bathan.

After a Holy Mass in front of the new school building, a re-enactment of the arrival of Magellan, who gave the image of Sto. Niño as a gift to Queen Juana and Raja Humabon in 1521, until the victory of Lapu-Lapu was presented by the parents and teachers of CPMS.

The four-storey St. Therese of the Child Jesus Building, which features green and environment-friendly elements, bursts with the lively beat of the Sinulog as the students themselves performed the traditional dance in veneration of the Snr. Sto. Niño in each floor, while the priest blessed the building.

While they don’t usually commemorate their Founding Anniversary, the students and staff of CPMS always make sure to celebrate the Sinulog Festival every year through dances and performances. After all, culture and arts are some of the disciplines that CPMS instills on their students.

CPMS Consultant Rudy Aviles shared that this yearly tradition is usually done in the same week as the actual Sinulog Festival. But this year they decided to hold it on the 28th in order to celebrate the school’s other milestones.

“This year is important for us. Aside from the 15th Founding Anniversary and the new building, we are also having a new thrust and revisioning for CPMS. We want to instill in the school a nature-loving consciousness and connectedness,” he said.

Aviles explained that CPMS officials and staff have been brainstorming on the school’s focus into green living.

Bathan added that in CPMS, they create an environment that will nurture and cultivate children “to grow to be truly human.”

“We lead everyone back to nature and being natural. The human beings have the spirit that makes us one with nature and connects us to each other, making this world as one, just as our creator intended it to be at the Garden of Eden,” she said.

CPMS has been putting in place several activities and programs in their curriculum on how to embody the green lifestyle over the years – from exposing students to nature and the outdoors, eating healthy, and even solid waste management.

Part of its strengthened focus on nature and the environment is the inauguration of the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Building which is set to be a green building.

“We want to be anchored on caring of nature. If I take care of nature, nature will take care of me. It’s a symbiosis. It’s a communion between me and the environment,” Aviles explained.

CPMS tapped the services of GSG Architects Co. in the design and construction of the new building features sustainable and tropical design concepts.

Among these is a water recycling system wherein wastewater from washbasins are recycled and used to water the garden on each floor’s terrace garden and drip irrigation system. The building’s three main columns also have a plant climbing support structure to encourage vine growth and supply cool fresh oxygen to the hallways and classrooms.

“Two-meter wide balconies and three-meter wide hallways on each floor provide planting strips to bring in fresh air, provide shade, and puts nature in close proximity to the classrooms even if these are elevated from the ground,” explained Archt. Clive Aaron Guanzon, Principal Architect of GSG Architects Co.

The new green building broke ground last year and is set to be completed within 2020. It will host the preschool and elementary classrooms as well as administrative offices.

It is part of the CPMS 2025 masterplan wherein four new school buildings will be built by CPMS within three phases. By 2025, on its 25th year, CPMS foresees a population of 400 to 500 students from toddler to Senior High School.

About Children’s Paradises Montessori School (CPMS)

CPMS was founded by Marivic E. Bathan, who has been its President since its inception in 2005, with the mission of providing children with an education for life. CPMS has created a learning environment based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy and principles that guide and nurture the development of each child’s potential to become an informed, creative, compassionate, and lifelong learner who will make a positive contribution to the global community.
